Martin Wieger completed the study of Electrical Engineering at the Technical University in Vienna. During his study, subject-related focuses were Electrochemical Energy Storage Systems, Environmental Technology, management and business management. His professional career started as a project manager for innovative high-tech startup companies. Afterwards – during his work as an assistant at the Vienna University of Technology, he established in the year 1999 the working group for Electrochemical Energy Storage Systems, at the institute for Industrial Electronics and Material Science (IEMW). As a spin-off, he founded in 2004 the ABR Austrian Battery Laboratory. Since that, he is steering the ABR testing & research laboratory as head and managing director. The organization and management of consortia projects, to carry out development work on batteries and storage systems, belong to his activities as well as creating patents and writing scientific publications.
