Emerging Trends and Future Prospects for Thin Tubular/Advance/Smart Lead-Acid Technology

With the advancement of technologies, customer expectations from their appliances have also increased. To cater to these requirements, energy storage devices need to meet some critical performance parameters to remain relevant and cost competitive such as: Safety and Maintenance Free, Enhanced Durability and Longevity, Cost-Effectiveness, and Circular Economy.

Lead acid batteries has always been a preferred choice in the H-UPS, and I-UPS segment, given to its safety, low cost, and sustainability features. However, with new day and age requirements such as the inception of AI, improved power quality, Renewable energy integration it becomes eminent to improve on the cycle life, Partial-state-of-Charge operation, deep discharge operation, High-rate operation and lower weight. To tackle this issue Lead-acid battery technology continues to evolve, with several emerging trends shaping its future:

  • Advanced Lead-Carbon Batteries: With carbon into the negative plates, for enhanced performance and longer lifespan.
  • AGM and Gel Technologies: These are becoming more popular due to their faster charging times, increased durability, and efficient energy storage.
  • Smart Batteries: Integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technology and algorithm-based management system with lead-acid batteries allows for better monitoring and management, enhancing their efficiency and reliability.

To achieve these advances there is a need for industry leaders and pioneers in the lead acid battery industry to focus more on:

  • Research and Development Initiatives for advancing lead-acid battery technology. Through government agencies, research institutions, and industry leaders collaborations.
  • Maintaining market leadership in Sustainability, cost effectiveness and scale.

To keep leadership position in the H-UPS segment, we are committed towards excellence through innovation. In this innovation journey we have already created a benchmark by making the thinnest tubular technology a grand success in H-UPS market and achieving highest lead efficiency. In this presentation we will showcase our continuous efforts and endeavours in R&D to cater to these more-than-ever-changing market.
