Seri Mengasih Centre

Seri Mengasih Centre is a charity non-government organisation relying mainly on fundraising projects, and public donations for its operation costs. It operates as a special developmental day training centre providing specialised training for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities from as young as 3 years old up to adulthood.The school currently has 66 students. The school charges parent a very low placement fee but with many families on poverty level income they find it impossible to pay the fee.

Seri Mengasih Centre’s primary mission is to enable and empower our students towards a life of hope and dignity within the community.

The main training components include:

Group behavior programs, which help individuals with severe difficulties integrate into group settings;

Tolerance training, aimed at reducing obsessions and frustrations to support smoother social interactions;

Language training, to build vocabulary and improve writing skills; and

General studies programs, which foster language development, communication abilities, and understanding of broader concepts.

Each place at Seri Mengasih costs just USD2,900.00 per year, per student full day and USD1,700 per year, per student half day. Our goal is to to provide as many scholarships as possible. This long-term commitment will provide stability and certainty, ensuring that each sponsored child can continue their education and benefit fully from the centres specialised, life changing programs.

Childrens Home Kota Kinabalu

The Orphanage provides a safe, loving home to children who are orphaned or come from deeply impoverished backgrounds. While it receives some government assistance, additional funding is essential to provide proper care, education, and brighter futures.

as at 15 April 2025 the home currently has 57 children and babies.

13 boys aged between 7 and 18 years old

30 girls aged between 7 and 18 years old

6 toddlers aged between 3 and 6 years old

Bringing Joy and Support to Every Child

In March 2025, ABC organisers had the opportunity to visit the Children’s Home in Kota Kinabalu. While the dedicated team at the orphanage does an incredible job caring for the children, it was clear that the facility operates with limited resources. Many of the children lack even the simple comforts and experiences that so many of us take for granted.

Get Ready to be wish-granters!

Our ONE Minute Giveback target is to make magic happen by fulfilling the wish list of all the children. From toys, laptops, tablets and cool shoes (and maybe a few superhero capes), if we can reach our target, we are sure to bring BIG SMILES to the kids’ faces. It’s our chance to spread joy, share kindness, and remind these amazing kids that wishes do come true—with a little help from us.

Wish List

To ensure all children receive similar devices and items and to ensure all electronic devices are compatible with local electricity Sorfin Yoshimura and 21ABC organisers will procure all Wish List items for the Children.

We aim to have an informal presentation over fun activities and catering during ABC where we can provide the Wish List items to the children
