Advanced GEL mixing and filling process for Valve-Regulated Lead–Acid Cells and Block Batteries
The presentation involves the GEL filling process that was patented by Abertax Research & Development Ltd in 2014 and developed to reduce the investment in machines and equipment, to make the whole process much simpler and safer and ― most importantly― to enhance the product quality and performance of valve-regulated lead–acid (VRLA) batteries using GEL technology. Initially, the process was only approved for OPzV cells and the first company that implemented the technology was Eternity Technologies FZ LLC in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. Since that time, the ‘GEL–circulation’ process has been tested and approved for PzV and Block Batteries. Other VRLA Battery manufacturers have implemented the technology for VRLA GEL batteries. The presentation provides test results and performance data of cells and blocks manufactured with the GEL-circulation process and compares the technology with alternative production methods.
